EBAYC & Beats Rhymes and Life
Check out 5th Element Studio with Beats Rhymes and Life to get a chance to create your own music, compose your own tracks, and record a CD. Professional mentors will be there to guide you along the way, motivate you to practice and perform at school events.

Athletes are given the opportunity to receive additional academic support prior to beginning their practice/training.
BuildOn
BuildOn
Students have the opportunity to create and participate in their community, all while gaining an understanding of social issues occurring in their neighborhood and globally. Selected BuildOn students have the chance to serve abroad in one of seven countries. Make an impact by simply lending a hand.
Community Health Squad
Health Initiatives for Youth (HIFY)
Scholars get involved with health issues that directly impact the community at Oakland High. They are introduced to the field of behavioral health, what it means, and how to help folks when it comes to mental health, sexual health and harm reduction. Application-based program, with a $500 stipend for participating.
Link Crew Internship*
EBAYC
Sophomores, juniors and seniors serve as Oakland High ambassadors for peers in their community. Engaged in school activities around campus while promoting school spirit and pride. Participants receive a $600 stipend for participation.
LIT
(Leaders In Training)
EBAYC
Outdoor leadership training focused on social, emotional, mental and life skill training. Students will learn to read maps, cook outdoors, and make friends.
Movie Club

Movie screening on selected Fridays, with guided discussion afterwards.
Peer Tutors*
EBAYC
Work at EBAYC's SWAG after school program at Oakland High School. Be a mentor and a tutor to 9th grade peers, gain work experience, and get professional development skills in a supportive and fun environment. Participants receive a $550 stipend for participation.
REAL HARD* (Representing Educated Active Leaders Having a Righteous Dream)
Oakland Kids First (OKF)
REAL HARD is a youth leadership and organizing body that seeks to amplify the positive and challenge the negative in school culture. We believe that values should guide our interactions with each other and that youth are experts in influencing school culture. Participants receive a $700 stipend for participation.
SKILL (Sharing Knowledge to Increase Leadership and Learning)
Health Initiatives for Youth (HIFY)
Health Information For Youth welcomes you to SKILL. Come have real conversations with your peers around our lives and how to keep safe. Learn real life skills, map your personal goals, and identify risk behaviors to help you make healthy decisions. Students earn a $10 gift card for every session they attend.

Banteay Srei
A free all girls' space where young women can learn, teach and ask questions about culture, build healthy relationships and talk about women's reproductive health. With a focus on Southeast Asian experiences, but all scholars who identify as female are welcome! $500 stipend offered, contingent on attendance.

Offering homework support and tutoring, community-building activities, college campus tours, fun field trips and more. Focuses on academics, college-readiness, and social-emotional learning. Specializing in 9th grade support, but open to all.
Teaching Assistants
EBAYC
Learn youth development job skills by working with elementary school kids in EBAYC after school programs. Gain work experience and professional development skills in a supportive and fun environment. Preference given to candidates residing in 94606, 94607 or 94610 zip codes. Participants earn $16/hour.

The Video Game Society is a safe space for all walks of life to come together and enjoy the world of gaming, through real world experiences and fun activities.

Youth & Government Program
YMCA
State-wide leadership program that teaches high school students to be better citizens through civic engagement activities. Students will attend 3 state-wide conferences for free, where they will debate their ideas and expand their network in the Supreme Court of California.
